"Let's do really well this year." Why So Hyung-joon and Oh Won-seok, best friends born in the year of the snake, are leaving for Japan

The Year of the Snake Duo will depart Korea starting from the new year in 2025. KT Wiz pitchers So Hyung-joon and Oh Won-seok (24) have embarked on a flight to Japan, vowing to rebound in the new season.

The two players, who played in different teams through the first round of nomination for the 2020 season, will be on the same wavelength in 2025. Oh Won-seok, who played for SSG Landers, was traded to Kim Min last winter and wore KT's uniform. So Hyung-joon, who had been a friend since his youth team days, immediately called and welcomed his best friend who joined the same team.메이저사이트

"I've known Oh since I was a member of the youth national team," Cho said. "I didn't expect to play in the same team. I contacted him as soon as I heard about his transfer, and we had dinner together several times. While talking with him yesterday, he said, "This is a really good team. Let's do our best this year."

The two players failed to complete the season due to injury last year. After leaving the team due to elbow injury in 2023, Cho joined the team only last fall, helping the KT bullpen. Oh consistently maintained the starting rotation of SSG last season, but left the team in September due to shoulder pain. It was also regrettable that he showed poor performance with an ERA of 7.20 in the second half of the season.

Born in 2001, the Year of the Snake aims to make 2025 a year of rebound. The two players will be in charge of KT's new starting lineup for the new season. Cho Hyung-joon, who was assigned to the bullpen last year for injury management, will take charge of starting anew for the new season. Oh will fill the void left by Um Sang-baek (Hanwha Eagles) who moved to the free agent league. Oh took on the heavy task of rebuilding KT's starting lineup, which had been famous as the "kingdom of starting players" in the early 2020s.

The two players go to Japan and pledge to rebound. They train at a training center in Tottori Prefecture, Japan. This place was recommended by Cho's agent agency, and Oh Won-seok joined the same company and moved there together. "I heard that the training center is good for improving joint mobility. I heard that throwing the ball feels different, so I really wanted to experience it," Cho said. "I will come back after making good physical fitness with (Oh)."
